The Germans have plenty of players who can cause problems for opposing defenders. Muller runs the show and is one of the most creative attackers in the world. He led the Bundesliga with 19 assists and scored 11 times for league champion Bayern Munich. Kroos, who had 10 assists for Real Madrid, holds down the middle along with Ilkay Gundogan. Kroos is a precise passer, especially on set pieces, and Gundogan led Premier League champion Manchester City with 13 goals. They have seven goals between them in 16 combined international games.

Germany is 10-5-3 all-time against Portugal, and outgoing manager Joachim Low is trying to find the right attackers from among Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane. Gnabry has nine goals in 10 matches with the national team in 2021, while Werner and Havertz combined for 17 goals and 17 assists during Chelsea’s Champions League-winning season. Antonio Rudiger also had a key role on that Chelsea team, and he teams with veteran Mats Hummels to provide solid defense in front of world-class goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Up until recent times, we would not have considered it possible for England to be competing for major titles. However, given that they managed to make the semi-final of the last World Cup, it is impossible to write England off these days. As many of you may know, England is a very young team, but with youth comes courage and fearlessness, which is certainly what England has displayed in their recent international games.

Germany may have lost some of their legends that helped them to win the World Cup in 2012, but they are still a formidable team. The international squad has a terrific manager, and they have become renowned for playing some truly magnificent football. Interestingly, Germany has been drawn in a group that consists of themselves, France, and Portugal, which means that one of these favourites will be going home early.

However, behind them, all three teams will fancy their chances of qualifying and giving the bigger nations something to think about in the knockout phase. Wales national football team went to the semi-finals of Euro 2016, but such is the strength of this group, it would be no surprise to see them finish bottom and not make the knockout phase at all.

The second spot looks to be between Switzerland and Turkey national football team, with both teams more than capable of causing problems on their day. What Turkey have is an excellent defensive record and great team spirit which is key in a tournament like this.

Belgium are the big team in Group B and they are a team who many believe can finally land the Euros and win this tournament. So this is easy Euro prediction 2021 in this UEFA Euro 2021 groups for Belgium team. Because anything other than winning this group will be seen as a disappointment and we agree with that, we fully expect Belgium national football team to win this group and win all three of their games in it to really stamp their authority on the tournament at an early stage.

Germany has historically been one of the most dominant teams at the UEFA European Championships, but it is in danger of going home early when it hosts Portugal on Friday in a group-stage match at Euro 2020. Germany has won the Euros three times, tied with Spain for most all-time, and it has been the runner-up three times. But now it faces reigning champion Portugal and likely needs a win to have a chance to move on to the Euro 2020 knockout stage. It lost 1-0 to tournament favorite and world No. 2 France in the opener while fifth-ranked Portugal rallied late to bury Hungary 3-0. Germany is ranked 12th and still had playmakers Thomas Muller and Toni Kroos from its 2016 world-champion team, but Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. are tough to beat.

Kickoff from Munich’s Allianz Arena is scheduled for noon ET. William Hill Sportsbook lists Germany as the +130 (risk $100 to win $130) favorite in its latest Portugal vs. Germany odds from William Hill Sportsbook, and the over-under for total goals scored is set at 2.5. Before making any Germany vs. Portugal picks, check out the Euro 2020 predictions and best bets from SportsLine’s Martin Green.

After working in the sports betting industry for several years, Green became a professional sports writer and handicapper. Since then, his European soccer picks have been spot-on. Green has generated almost $19,000 for $100 bettors since the 2017-18 season. He’s having a great Euro 2020 as well, with his picks generating over $500 in profit for $100 bettors through Friday’s action. Green has his finger on the pulse of the game all over the globe.

Now, Green has taken an in-depth look at Germany vs. Portugal at Euro 2020 and locked in his best bets. You can head to SportsLine now to see his picks. Here are the betting lines and trends for Portugal vs. Germany:

Behind them, the second and third spots in this group are likely to be fought out by Denmark and Russia, with a slight preference going to the first-named. Denmark football team have shown solid ability against some of the bigger European nations and that is going to help them here.

Russia football team have done the same, including when playing well in their World Cup in 2018, though that has all come on home soil, which has helped them. They do get to play some games in St Petersburg this time around, but it is not the same as hosting.

In terms of quality, Denmark have a slight edge for us, so we predict Euro 2021 Group B that they will take the runners up spot. Russia have enough to qualify by coming third, and lastly, Finland national team will be the team propping up the table.

The Netherlands national team are certainly the standout team in Group C and should have far too much in hand for the three teams that oppose them. Although they may lack the quality of some of the other teams in this competition as we move into the knockout phase, getting through the group stage should be something they can do with relative ease.

The race behind them is fascinating. Can Ukraine football team compete well, will Austria football team show up or can North Macedonia cause a shock as the newcomers. The latter could well be possible and if you want to find something of value from this group then it may be for North Macedonia football team to finish in second place behind the Netherlands.

They have shown their ability by qualifying for the finals, and on top of that have recorded a recent win against Germany, which was an excellent result for them and would have been a real confidence booster for the players.

Ukraine and Austria will both be looking to qualify from this group but may require one of the third-placed slots to do so.

In terms of groups that put together bigger nations, this is certainly the second-best behind Group F which we will get to shortly. Here we have England and Croatia in the same group, two teams who met in the World Cup semi-final back in 2018.

Add in Scotland, who have a huge rivalry with England and the Czech Republic who can be dangerous at times and this should be a great group to watch. We think England will come out on top and beat Croatia team to the top spot, despite losing that World Cup semi-final and this I because of the path these teams are on.

At that time, Croatia were slowly fading away, while England were a little young and were still improving. Now, England have more experience, players in their prime and even more youngsters who are being allowed to shine. It is easy to see why England are amongst the tournament favourites, and we think they can start things well by winning this group.

Although we have covered how many teams that look likely to make it to the latter stages of the competition, we would like to now take a moment to cover some of the underdogs. After all, if you are considering betting on the event, these are the teams where you might find some highly enticing odds for them to ultimately lift the trophy.

The Netherlands is also listed as favorites, but their offense isn’t as potent. They were on the final of the Nations League under their new coach Ronald Koeman and had many potentials. They lack a bona fide striker, and that may not be enough at the Euro 2021.

Many people think that Portugal is just a one-man team, with the outcome of their games being completely dependent on how Cristiano Ronaldo performs. Since Portugal managed to win the last Euro Championships, however, and the fact that they did this without their star man, this reputation was completely turned on its head. Ronaldo and indeed Portugal managed to prove that they could come together as a team and do great things, which was why they managed to win the last tournament.

Some would say that Spain has lost its way in international football in recent years. But nevertheless, Spain is still a team with some very talented individuals, and they are capable of playing rapid football that can regularly lead to goals. Players such as Sergio Ramos will no doubt bring plenty of experience to the team for the tournament, but there are also players such as Rodrigo and Rodri to look out for as well.
