Timo Werner played for the Germany U17 team as well and he won the silver medal with die Mannschaft at the 2012 UEFA European Championship. His main position is centre forward, but he is used as a winger as well. Timo Werner’s contract with Leipzig should expire on June 30, 2020.

Germany will be looking to build on a thrilling 4-2 win over Portugal when they take on Hungary in their last group game. Joachim Low’s troops quickly bounced back from a 1-0 loss to France, with the team regaining a much-needed confidence. Bayern Munchen midfielder Joshua Kimmich, who impressed in the triumph over Portugal, will be the man to watch in Joachim Low’s team. Both Hofmann and Klostermann are sidelined with injuries.

The Hungarians, on the other hand, did well to hold France to a 1-1 draw in their second group game. Marco Rossi’s troops managed to keep their playoffs hopes alive, but they will have a mountain to climb in Wednesday’s clash. Given Germany’s display in the victory over Cristiano Ronaldo and Co, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise. Midfielder Daniel Gazdag is sidelined with injury for the Hungarians.

Recording impressive results on international stage since 1904, France are widely regarded as one of the world’s most successful national teams, with three major trophies to their name. Two of those were won on home soil as Les Bleus emerged triumphant at the 1984 World Cup and 1998 European Championships, before also winning the 2000 Euros in Netherlands and Belgium.

Michel Platini, Jean Tigana, Luis Fernandez and Alain Giresse formed the “Carre Magique” during the 80’s as one of the most impressive attacking line-ups made life difficult for opposition defenders for years on end.

The new golden generation appeared at the turn of the century and featured players like Thierry Henry, Zinedine Zidane, David Trezeguet and Youri Djorkaef, winning back to back major trophies to place Les Bleus back on the map.

Cristiano Ronaldo is considered one of the world’s best football players. The Portuguese ace was born on 5 February, 1985 in Funchal, Madeira and he played for the likes of Andorinha, Nacional and Sporting during his youth career. CR7 made his Sporting debut in Primeira Liga on 7 October, 2002, scoring two goals in a 3-0 win over Moreirense.

Manchester United scouts spotted him and one year later he joined the Old Trafford outfit. Ronaldo became the most expensive teenager in the history of the Premier League and he received the number 7 shirt. He quickly established himself as the team’s key player and it has to be noted that he won three consecutive Premier League trophies with the Red Devils (2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009). In 2008 he helped the Old Trafford outfit beat Chelsea in the Champions League final, scoring for Alex Ferguson’s troops in the regular time.

Ronaldo joined Real Madrid in 2009 and he helped the Spanish giants with two Champions League trophies. In 2016 he won the European Championship trophy with Portugal. The Real Madrid ace has two Golden Ball awards (2013, 2014).

There will be fireworks when Portugal and France face each other at Puskas Arena in the Group F derby. Portugal kicked off their EURO 2020 campaign with a 3-0 win over Hungary, but they failed to impress in a 4-2 loss to Germany in their second group game. Fernando Santos’ men are determined to get back on course, but the game against France will be anything but a walk in the park for the nominal hosts. Joao Felix has overcome his injury, but the Atletico Madrid attacker is likely to start from the bench.

Les Tricolores, on the other hand, are one point away from booking their place in the EURO last 16, and they are likely to adopt a cautious approach in the decider. Since both teams should be happy with one point from the match, we are tempted to put our money on draw. Ousmane Dembele remains on the sidelines with injury for Didier Deschamps’ charges.

Despite being part of United Kingdom Scotland participate in football competitions as an independent country. The Scots qualified for the 1950 FIFA World Cup finals, but the SFA eventually withdrew their entry as they were not British champions. Four years later Scotland national football team participated at the showpiece tournament in Switzerland, but they were eliminated in the group stages.
