Strikers Fernando Torres and David Villa also had a major role to play in those successes, but when it comes to their famous predecessors, the likes of Alfredo Di Stefano, Michel, Emilio Butrageno, Raul Gonzalez, Fernando Morientes and Fernando Hierro should not be forgotten.

Born in Trencin on November 25, 1994, Stanislav Lobotka is a Slovakia international who plays for Celta Vigo in La Liga. Lobotka began his youth career at his hometown club AAC Sparta Trencin and he made his senior debut for fellow local club Trencin. In 2013 he signed a loan deal with Dutch side Ajax, but he played for Jong Ajax during the 2013/2014 season.

In the summer of 2014, the Slovakian midfielder returned to Trencin, where he made 74 appearances in the league in total. In 2015 Stanislav Lobotka joined Danish side Nordsjaelland shortly before the transfer window closed. Lobotka made his debut in the Danish top flight against Brondby on August 30, 2015.

Two years later he decided to make a step forward in his career, signing a five-year contract with La Liga side Celta Vigo. Speaking of his international career, the Celta Vigo midfielder made his Slovakia debut against Austria in November2016. It has to be noted that Lobotka became the first Slovak to score at Wembley, finding the net in a 2018 World Cup qualifier against England.

Estadio de La Cartuja will host Group E clash between Slovakia and Spain. A place in the EURO last 16 is at stake, and, no doubt, there will be fireworks when the two teams face each other on Wednesday evening. The Slovaks kicked off their European Championship campaign with a 2-1 win over ten-man Poland, but they failed to grab something from the Sweden game. Stefan Tarkovic’s troops are one point away from booking their place in the last 16, meaning that they are likely to adopt a cautious approach in the decider.

There are no fresh injury worries in the Slovakian team ahead of the match. La Roja, on the other hand, head into the game following back-to-back draws with Sweden and Poland. This has to go down as a must-win game for one of the tournament hosts, and we predict that the Spaniards are going to prove their worth on the field. Luis Enrique should have a full squad to choose from.

Poland have recently emerged as one of Europe’s top sides, although they did enjoy some success during the 70’s and 80’s. The White Eagles impressed to achieve third-place finish at the 1974 and 1982 World Cup tournaments, while they also win the 1972 Olympics, albeit with an amateur side.

Poland started showing improvement at the turn of the century, slowly becoming regular at major tournaments and they even co-hosted the Euro 2012 with Ukraine, but disappointed home fans to crash out in the group stage. The new generation, boasting players like Robert Lewandowski, Arkadiusz Milik, Lukas Piszczek, Grzegorz Krychowiak and Jakub Blaszczykowski, has the potential to help the national team return to old glory days, with some talented players also coming through the youth ranks.

Zbigniew Boniek, Wlodzimierz Lubanski and Grzegorz Lato are some of the other players who have impressed playing for the national team, which has been playing their home games at the National Stadium in Warsaw.

Marcus Berg is a Swedish footballer who was born on 17 August, 1986. The 184-cm-tall attacker played for the likes of Torsby, Velen and Goteborg during his youth career and he continued playing for the Anglarna at senior level.

Marcus Berg joined Groningen in 2007 and two years later he moved to Bundesliga, signing a deal with Hamburger SV. After spending the 2010/2011 season on loan at PSV, the Swedish striker made 13 appearances more for Hamburg and on 8 July, 2013 he joined Panathinaikos. Berg signed a four-year deal with the Greek outfit and it has to be noted that he scored his first goal for the team on his debut against Panetolikos.

The Swedish striker scored 15 goals in the 2013/2014 Greek Superleague campaign with Panathinaikos. Berg has 19 appearances for Sweden U21 team and he made his 42nd for the first team at the 2016 European Championship finals in France. The Swedish forward is well known for his heading ability.

Sweden will be aiming to cement top position in Group E when they take on Poland at Gazprom Arena. The Scandinavians did well to hold Spain to a goalless draw in their opener, with the team beating Slovakia thanks to Emil Forsberg’s penalty-kick goal in their second group game. Janne Anderson’s troops are with one foot in the last 16, but they can’t afford any complacency in the decider. Midfielder Mattias Svanberg is likely to miss the match after he was tested positive for coronavirus.

The Poles, on the other hand, are eyeing their first win of the process. Since Robert Lewandowski and Co. are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach in Wednesday’s clash, we predict that Sweden will seal the victory on the break. The good news for the nominal visitors is that midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak is out of contention through suspension.

Widely known as the Mighty Magyars during the 1950’s, Hungary national team had the world at its feet as the team featuring Ferenc Puskas, Sandor Kocsis and Zoltan Czibor reached the final of the 1954 World Cup, while recording several impressive wins over England and other top sides in international friendlies.

Hungary also made it to the semi-final at the Euro 1964 and Euro 1972, but they have since largely struggled to return to old glory days. The barren run finally came to an end as Foci defeated Norway in the play-off to qualify for the Euro 2016 finals, but there still appears to be a huge gap behind the top European sides.

Long-serving goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly has managed to break a 58-year record held by Jozsef Bozsik, having surpassed the 101-cap mark, but Ferenc Puskas still remains the top goalscorer in the history of the national team with an unbelievable record of 84 goals in 85 caps, followed by Sandor Kocsis, who has 75 goals in 68 appearances.

Timo Werner is a German starlet, who began his senior career at Vfb Stuttgart. The German forward, who was born in Stuttgart on March 6, 1996, scored 13 goals in 95 appearances in the league for Die Schwaben and in 2016 he moved to fellow Bundesliga side Leipzig and he impressed with the Red Bulls in the 2016/2017 Bundesliga campaign, scoring 21 goals in the process.

To make things even better for the talented attacker, he represented Germany at the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and it has to be noted that he provided an assist for Lars Stindl in the title game. Despite the fact that coach Joachim Low rested star players at the tournament in Russia, the Germans eventually won the trophy.
