Italy cruised through the group stages with three wins, seven goals scored and none conceded while Wales were trailing in their wake on four points. Ultimately it was the fact that they were the only team not to lose 3-0 to the Italians that was enough to secure second spot for Rob Page’s side with four points and a goal difference of plus one.

Switzerland, who drew with Wales in the opening round of games, finished third by virtue of their goal difference. However with the third-placed teams from Group B and C having only registered three points the Swiss are guaranteed a last 16 berth. They will face either Belgium or the winners of Group B.

There are many teams heading into this tournament that will fancy their chances of success and five or six teams have genuine claims to the title if things go their way. However, there are two that really stand out to us, and the reason for this outright betting is because the star players in these teams are all in their prime and they have a lot of European experience, both with clubs and internationally.

The French are loaded and full of confidence after winning the World Cup in 2018. Les Bleus are the betting favorite heading into the tournament thanks to a stout defense, a midfield containing N’Golo Kante, and an attack led by Kylian Mbappe. Oh, and the squad also features Paul Pogba and a recalled Karim Benzema.

Belgium romped to the top of their group and a knockout tie against one of the competition’s third place teams and behind them Denmark’s stunning 4-1 win over Russia was enough to elevate them from bottom spot coming into the final round of games to qualification for the last 16. In a tournament that had been so disrupted for them by the cardiac arrest suffered by playmaker Christian Eriksen, it is a remarkable achievement for Kasper Hjulmand’s side.

Tournament debutants Finland are in the mix for a third place berth but with three points and a goal difference of minus two they are likely to fall short; a similar tally for Turkey at Euro 2016 was not enough to reach the last 16.

These teams are England and France, with our vote for the winner of Euro 2021 going to France. We saw them dominate the 2018 World cup and come out on top, that was after being losing finalists in the 2016 European Championships.

Despite already tasting success, France national football team still have a number of players together from those two teams, and these players are still in the prime of their careers. Combine that with the experience and winning feeling that these players will have had over the years and it gives France a big advantage over many of the other teams in this tournament.

One of the fascinating betting markets to look at for many people ahead of a big tournament is the top scorer betting market, also known as the Golden Boot winner. Here you need to look for two things, the first is a player who will attack and have a lot of opportunities to score. The second is a player who will be in a team that is expected to go a long way, so will play in a lot of games at the tournament.

Undeserved expectation of success is the English way in soccer, and the 2021 Euros are no different with Three Lions entering the tournament as the second betting favorite behind France, which is absurd considering the nation’s lack of success on the national stage. The high hopes are built on a young attack featuring up-and-coming stars such as Phil Foden, Jadon Sancho, Jack Grealish and Raheem Sterling, and the established Harry Kane.

Second place in Group C came down to a straight fight between Ukraine and Austria in Bucharest, a first half goal by Christoph Baumgartner enough to earn Das Team a first place in the Euros knockout rounds in their history though they will be hard pressed to go further against an Italy side that have been one of the tournament’s best.

The Netherlands cruised to top spot in Group C and will face a third-placed team from one of Group D, E or F in the round of 16. As for Ukraine, they will be nervously awaiting results in the final three groups over the coming days. With three points and a goal difference of minus one they are at least ahead of Finland; a draw between Croatia and Scotland in Glasgow would be enough to take them through to the last 16.

With those two in mind, our selection to be the top scorer at Euro 2021 is Harry Kane of England. We fancy England’s chances to go well and play a lot of games here, so Kane should get the chances he needs to score goals. Euro 2021 top scorer odds market you can find in Betfair bookmaker (6.50 euro odds winner for H.Kane).

On top of that, Kane is right in the prime of his career, so he comes here at a good time. He is also an out and out goalscorer, he doesn’t drift out wide too much or drop deep, Kane leads the line for England and is always found in and around the penalty area when his team are attacking.

My pick to win the 2021 Euro Cup is Belgium. Currently the top-ranked team in the world, Roberto Martinez’s squad should roll through Group B with ease. Kevin De Bruyne, the best midfielder in world football, is at his peak. Romelu Lukaku is brimming with confidence after a successful season in Italy. If Eden Hazard can create some of his old magic, Belgium is a tough out.

Italy gets to play the entirety of its Group A matches on home soil, providing a distinctive advantage over Turkey, Switzerland and Wales. Italy, known for a fanatical dedication to defensive philosophy, hopes to defend its way to the group stage. Once in the knockout stages, the Azzurri are fine with boring 1-0 victories.

England captured first place in the group on Tuesday thanks to a 1-0 win over the Czech Republic. But Tuesday’s results saw three teams from the group qualify. Croatia finished in second place with a 3-1 win over Scotland, and the third-place Czechs will also advance thanks to their four points and +1 goal differential. Croatia had the same point total and goal differential as the Czech Republic but finished ahead thanks to the goals scored tiebreaker.

Sweden have already qualified for the knockout stages ahead of their game against Poland, who will qualify with a win but be eliminated with any other result. Both Spain and Slovakia know that a win will guarantee their berth in the knockout rounds as well.

We fancy France to make it to the UEFA Euro final 2021 and win the tournament, but who will they have to play and beat in the final? We think that team will be England, led by the goals of Harry Kane and with many others who can contribute.

Apart from the World Cup, football tournaments just do not get bigger than the Euro Championships. This is the tournament where the very best international teams in Europe come together to fight it out and see who will be crowned Kings of Europe. The tournament is regularly home to teams such as England, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, and many other powerhouses from around the continent. This event is typically held once every 4 years, but due to obvious economic events, the event has now been pushed back to take place in 2021.

There will be 24 teams that clash in this tournament, and just like the other prestigious events that are held around the world, the Euro Championships begin as a round-robin competition. From each of the groups that have now been drawn, only two can progress through to the knockout stage. This is why every single game is critically important in the tournament, and it’s also why the drama, as well as the excitement, can reach extremely high levels.

England showed their skill at the 2018 World Cup when they went to the semi-finals before being beaten by Croatia. That was the first big tournament for many of the England squad, and they will have taken a lot from that experience which will really help them out here.

Like France, they have a good mix of players in their prime and those who are young and coming through, rather than having ageing players as key members of the team like some other countries have.

With that in mind, we are choosing England to go very well and although France are the team who we think will win, we are selecting a France v England in Euro Cup final 2021. If you want bet on Euros finalists, for this France/England final match you will get

With the tournament scheduled to start soon, we figured it was about time that a post was put together that highlights plenty of Euro 2021 betting tips. You can see many of our hand-picked tips in the table right here, but we have also gone into much more detail throughout the rest of the post.

However, while a point would be enough for Slovakia, it would take Spain’s fate out of their hands. If Luis Enrique’s side were to draw and Sweden were to win then La Furia Roja would advance. However victory for Poland and a draw in the other game would leave Spain bottom of the group on three points.

With four points to their name France are through and a victory over Portugal in Budapest would be enough to guarantee them top spot in Group F. Portugal’s finishing position is not within their control, if they do not get a better result than Germany manage against Hungary then they cannot top the group. Equally a point against France would be enough to guarantee progress to the knockout rounds for Cristiano Ronaldo and company.

Hungary will qualify with a win and nothing more in their away game against Germany, who need just a point to book their berth in the last 16.

Every position is up for grabs in Group F, whose winners face either Switzerland or Finland. Second place in Group F faces the second best team from Group D whilst a third place qualifier would meet Belgium or the Netherlands.

Calculators, abucases and Excel documents at the ready folks, it’s time to dive into the labyrinthine complexities of Euro 2020 knockout round qualification. Actually it’s not that complicated but anything more than the top two going through can feel like an exercise in unnecessary confusion when the games are coming at you as thick and fast as they do at the European Championships.

To see how lethal the Portuguese attack can be, you need to look no further than Sunday’s win against Hungary. The game was scoreless with about six minutes left before Portugal broke through for all three goals. Ronaldo had two of those, one on a penalty kick and the other on a tremendous run into the box where he deked past the goalkeeper and finished into the empty net. The goal made him the UEFA Euro tournament’s all-time leading scorer with 11 goals and he is three shy of tying the all-time international record for goals, held by Ali Daei of Iran.
